2013 Tour de Bleu raises $565,500 for the home of Canadian Cycling

This year’s ride supported the Mattamy Cycling Centre, a game changer for the sport of cycling in Canada. Located in Milton, the Centre would become the home of Canadian cycling at the high performance and local community levels. A true partnership of private, public and community support, the Tour de Bleu’s contribution from cycling philanthropists was more than matched by the Town of Milton, the Federal Government and the cycling community to make the facility a reality.

The Mattamy Cycling Centre was a host venue for the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Games. It is one of only two facilities in North America of its kind.  It includes a 250-metre oval cycling track with banked corners and 1,500 permanent seats. It also provides residents with access to recreation spaces that are non-cycling related, including a gymnasium, a three-lane, 300-metre walking/running track, fitness and conditioning facilities, a café and multi-purpose spaces.  We hope one day it will be the home of an Olympic or Tour de France champion.
